The International Misophonia Foundation Launches The Misophonia Research Databas
Amzeal News/10645108
A searchable, filterable index of misophonia research, free to use and free to download
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Amzeal -- The International Misophonia Foundation (IMF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, today announced the launch of the Misophonia Research Database, a free online index of peer-reviewed misophonia studies. All data in the database is free to download.
Each entry includes:
- Study title and first author
- Full citation and DOI
- A direct link to the study
- Publication year
- Topic category
- Full-text availability, clearly flagging which studies can be read free of charge
Users can filter by thirteen topic areas: Assessment Tools and Measures; Co-occurring Conditions; Emotion and Cognition; Hearing and Sound Tolerance; Neuroscience and Biology; Prevalence and Epidemiology; Quality of Life and Lived Experience; Reviews and Theory; Sensory Processing; Symptoms and Diagnosis; Treatment and Therapy; Triggers and Acoustics; and Youth and Families.
The complete dataset is free to download, with no paywall, subscription or account required. Researchers, students and advocates can take the full index and use it in their own literature reviews, analyses, teaching materials and projects.

The database is dedicated specifically to misophonia. Unlike general literature searches, which often bury misophonia studies under tinnitus and other unrelated hearing research, every study included addresses misophonia directly.
"For years, people with misophonia have been told to 'look at the research,' as if the research were sitting in one place, written for them, and free to read. It isn't," said Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond, Director of The International Misophonia Foundation. "This database is our answer to that. Researchers can see where the field stands and where the gaps are, and download every bit of the data to use in their own work. Clinicians can find the evidence on assessment and treatment. And people with misophonia and their families can finally see what the science actually says about the condition they live with, and which studies they can read for free."
The database is designed for:
- Researchers conducting literature reviews, identifying gaps, and tracking emerging areas such as treatment trials and neuroimaging

- Clinicians looking for evidence on assessment tools and therapeutic approaches
- Students searching for a starting point for papers, theses and research projects
- People with misophonia and their families who want direct access to the science
The Misophonia Research Database complements other resources on MisophoniaResearch.com, including information on participating in research, research topic ideas for students and investigators, and datasets and resources for researchers. The database will be updated regularly as new studies are published.
The database is available now at:
