Looop Promises Never to Sell Families' Data or Show Them Ads
Amzeal News/10646187
No ads, no advertisers, and no data sales, as family location apps build ad businesses
AUSTIN, Texas - Amzeal -- Looop, the safety notifications app for families who care from a distance, today pledged that the people who use it will never become ad inventory. Looop never sells your data and doesn't work with advertisers. There are no ads in the app, no sponsored offers in its notifications, and no audience lists built from the places families go.
Looop brings weather, crime, spending, health, fitness, activity, and the shape of each day together to tell families when it might be a good time to check in on a loved one. When all is well, it stays quiet.
"When you ask your mom to join a safety app, you're asking her to trust you with where she goes every day. We don't want an advertiser anywhere near that, now or later, so we wrote it down as a pledge," said the team behind Looop.
The pledge:
Looop's pledge comes as advertising becomes a growing business for family location apps. Life360 reported that its advertising revenue grew 315% year over year to $22.0 million in the second quarter of 2026. The company launched its ad platform in 2024 with Uber as a key partner, placing Uber ads in notifications members receive when they land at their destination. In June 2025 it launched Place Ads, which it describes as "timely brand messages triggered by real-world behavior."
