Free Event Attracts 800 Startup Founders and Tech Professionals

DALLAS - Feb. 15, 2019 - Amzeal -- ShearShare, the first Texas startup to win Google Demo Day and Tech. Co's Startup of the Year, teams up with Impact House, an early-stage venture accelerator and Hack DFW for HackDFW 2019, a two-day technology hackathon and interactive summit.

Impact House brings a fresh perspective to the Dallas tech scene, emphasizing culture and impact through diversity, access, and inclusion. During HackDFW 2019, Impact House will host a special #HackTheCultureChallenge that leverages the power of technology to improve social and economic mobility in under-resourced communities. Impact House kicked off the #HackTheCulture Networking Series in November 2018, engaging more than 500 professionals and entrepreneurs through intimate discussions on the unique challenges faced by underrepresented women and minorities in the workplace and in entrepreneurship.

Festivities begin the evening of February 15 with a VIP Kick-Off Reception at the Mavs Gaming Pavilion in Deep Ellum. The hackathon will take place at the Dallas Women's Museum in Fair Park on February 16 and 17.

"We're excited to partner with HackDFW and ShearShare for this year's event. HackDFW has a great history of hosting large-scale interactive hackathons, and our partnership brings that legacy to an even greater audience. HackDFW 2019 will combine creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting, giving participants from diverse backgrounds access to the skills that are necessary to thrive in the 21st century economy," says Benjamin J. Vann, CEO of Impact House.
