U12 Nerva Tournament Bristol, Connecticut
The fact that Newton didn't have a competitive volleyball team for 9 and 10 year-old girls didn't stop the motivated kids who wanted to play and their coaches from starting the first Newton SMASH U10 team and compete against older girls in tournament action. Fun was had by all.

"This was such a great accomplishment," commented a proud parent. "Fall tryouts are coming up so we are excited to see what happens next. Not only do they play well on the court, they are also close friends. You don't see this often with club teams. This was an experience everyone involved will remember and be proud of for the rest of their lives. It taught the girls if they put their hearts into something and work hard they can succeed."

Last year, representing volleyball in New England SMASH had 148 players from 74 different schools. Their goal is to be able to try out, train, and field strong, winning teams in all age groups. Smash has been training kids for 31 years. Their U10 team is just one of their latest successes.
