Don Lemon To Headline Naacp Memphis Freedom Fund Celebration

Local chapter unveils guest speaker, theme and event date for annual fundraiser
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Amzeal -- The NAACP Memphis Branch is proud to announce that Don Lemon, award-winning journalist and former host of CNN's Don Lemon Tonight, will serve as the keynote speaker for its annual Freedom Fund Celebration. This year's theme is, "This is Power," and the celebration will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023, with the reception starting at 5:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Halloran Center for Performing Arts & Education, located at 203 S. Main Street, Memphis, TN 38103.
Don Lemon has won a variety of distinguished awards for his work, which has spanned nearly three decades, including an Edward R. Murrow award, multiple Emmys and a Peabody award, among others. In addition to CNN, Lemon has served as an anchor and correspondent at the NBC and MSNBC television networks, as well as at local stations in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and St. Louis.
