Divorce Education and Financial Empowerment: One-Stop Shopping from the Nation's Leading Non-Profit Educators

Bahr Investment Group Second Saturday Divorce Workshops
Whether the goal is divorce, a stronger marriage, or simply becoming smarter, Second Saturday Divorce Workshops provide the curriculum

SAN DIEGO - July 18, 2018 - Amzeal -- Teachers are consistently ranked as one of the most trusted professions, making them a natural fit for divorce education, when trust levels are significantly compromised.  Where is an individual to go for a straightforward, non-biased learning experience during any stage of untying the knot?

Welcome to Second Saturday Divorce Workshops, the nation's longest-running educational workshop for financial literacy, legal rights and emotional well-being during divorce, separation and marriage. It empowers attendees by providing critical legal, financial and emotional information in a supportive, cooperative learning environment that fosters hope, independence and divorce literacy.

Workshops are led by volunteer professionals in areas of finance, mental health and family law.  The three-part curriculum is provided by WIFE.org, and adapted by individual presenters to conform to individual state law, workshop format and learning style.  Presenters also offer individual follow-up assessments that may be free or paid, helping presenters achieve the emotional and educational benchmarks necessary for moving forward, in or out of marriage.

While Second Saturday was originally tailored strictly for women navigating divorce, thousands of workshops later, it became clear to presenters around the country that women (and some men) were also attending for the non-biased education, many even implementing what they learned and choosing to stay married.

For Melanie Johnson, Second Saturday Senior Leader and Director of Educational Outreach, her own post-divorce transition from Kindergarten Teacher to Second Saturday educator came naturally: "The most rewarding part of being a teacher for 12 years was touching the children's lives. And, while the idea to become a CDFA® was initially suggested by my second husband, it was my desire to continue making an impact that made me so passionate about helping women become empowered financially!"

Since 2006, Melanie has taught over 150 Second Saturday workshops in Austin, TX, putting her teaching skills to great use.  She was and continues to be a critical part of Second Saturday's national rollout, by sharing her knowledge and expertise with other potential workshop presenters. And, as the workshops continue to multiply, professionals who are also educators at heart are stepping forward to lead them.
