NEW YORK - March 13, 2019 - Amzeal -- Do tech giants like Amazon, Facebook, and Google have too much control? VentureBeat recently spoke to Kartik Hosanagar, an entrepreneur, professor, and researcher who has spent more than a decade studying and teaching courses about algorithms. He believes we should have an Algorithmic Bill of Rights that would address some key protections consumers regarding transparency.

We all know algorithms control what we buy, where we live, whether we get a job or a bank loan, and even predicts our words in Gmail. Did you pick your love or did Tinder? "The idea is vote with your wallet" says Hosanagar. "We ultimately have the option to walk away from these tools. So if we feel like a company is using our data, and we don't find it acceptable, for some people that might be where they draw the line and walk away."

Meanwhile, Jax advises us not use Jenkins Pipelines for continuous delivery. The sites says Jenkins may seem "all-purpose", but it's really not. "Just because you think you can use Jenkins Pipelines for continuous delivery doesn't mean you should" cautions Jax. "Continuous delivery is way more than the building and testing of code into artifacts... Continuous delivery is about taking those artifacts into production where they will delight the customer." Remember, Jenkins Pipeline is just a suite of plugins that allow you to build your own CD platform. This means that you're actually the one coding and maintaining your CD process as your applications and services evolve.

In other news, Dell EMC announced enhancements to the VxBlock 1000 converged infrastructure. Tying the converged infrastructure solution into the VMware vRealize suite was key, Brian Henderson, director of product marketing for converged infrastructure and open networking at Dell EMC, told eWEEK. "We believe VMware is going to be this operational hub for the cloud, and you've started to see some of that messaging slowly come out, and you'll see us double down on that type of story as we get closer to Dell Tech World [in April] and one of those foundational platforms will be VxBlock," Henderson said.
