Born To Read, Inc. Receives Grant from 100 Women Who Care Beaufort for $14600
Amzeal News/10538006
BEAUFORT, S.C. - Amzeal -- Born To Read, Inc. is excited to announce it has received a $14,600.00 grant from 100 Women Who Care Beaufort. These funds are earmarked to support benefactors North of the Broad.
Born To Read's trained volunteers visit new parents in the birthing centers at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital and bring new parents a gift bag containing three books for the baby, a shirt and other informational items. While visiting, volunteers advise parents of the importance of reading daily and talking with their babies starting at birth.
Children's academic successes at ages 9 and 10 can be attributed to the amount of talk they hear from birth through age 3. Source: ZeroToThree
"On behalf of the Board of Directors of Born To Read, Inc. I would like to say, 'thank you' to 100 Women Who Care for this generous grant to be used to support the Born to Read Programs North of the Broad." stated Janie Ephland, Executive Director, Born to Read, Inc.
