AXT Partner with Alemnis to bring Micromechanical Testing Instruments to Australia and NZ
Amzeal News/10584057
AXT are proud to announce that they will be distributing the Alemnis range of micromechanical testing systems and environmental add-ons designed for in situ use in SEMs, CTs, synchrotrons, XRDs, light microscopes etc.
WARRIEWOOD, Australia - Amzeal -- AXT further strengthened its commitment to the Australian and New Zealand microscopy in situ communities by partnering with Alemnis. Alemnis are a world-leading producer of nanomechanical and micromechanical testing devices that can be integrated into SEMs, FIBs, light microscopes, computed tomography instruments as well as synchrotron.
Swiss-based Alemnis were founded in 2008, design and manufacture micro- and nanomechanical property measurement instruments that can be applied in a wide variety of testing environments. As the originators of in situ nanoindenters, it comes as no surprise that their systems are favoured by many prestigious research institutions worldwide, including the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales.
Their flagship instrument, the ASA high-precision nanoindenter (https://www.axt.com.au/products/asa-nanoindente...) features a modular design that allows it to be customised to suit the users specific needs using a range of environmental controls (temperature, gas and liquid) and accessories. The versatile nature of the system makes it suitable for carrying out a range of tests such as micropillar compression, tension, bending, scratch testing and more.

Richard Trett, AXT's Managing Director commented, "we are committed to bringing the best technologies to Australia and New Zealand to help our researchers maintain a leading global research position. Partnering with Alemnis helps us to support the local development of advanced materials".
Nicholas Randall, Vice President of Business Development at Alemnis replied, "We pride ourselves in the performance and affordability of our systems. The high strain rates of our in situ instruments provides a unique advantage to Australian researchers looking to perform cutting-edge research so they can better understand how materials behave and perform, including performing correlative mechanical and chemical mapping at the micro-scale".
