ASPIRE, New Signature Event for The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society
Amzeal News/10543059
WASHINGTON - Amzeal -- he Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) announced today the re-branding of their signature event to ASPIRE. ASPIRE, which stands for Advancing Systems & Practice through Innovation, Research, & Education, is reflective of HFES' mission and long-standing organizational brand.
"ASPIRE is a look to the future of what our organization can do to advance human factors and ergonomics (HF/E) science. It is a modernized and collective effort initiated by our Executive Council to reflect the audiences we want to attract to our signature activity. The word ASPIRE resonates with everyone in our field ̶ we all have hopes of achieving something greater for humankind ̶ and the acronym is representative of the many different areas we touch and the science and education that drive everything we do. The new logo also incorporates a modernized, yet recognizable, brand mark that ties back to HFES," said Susan Kotowski, President of HFES.

The collective effort, led by Kotowski, had the collaboration and input from their Executive Council and young professionals, students, practitioners and the academic community to ensure ASPIRE reflected the needs and wants of the HF/E community. HFES is the world's largest scientific association for human factors and ergonomics professionals, founded in 1957. The mission of HFES is to advance the science and practice of designing for people in systems through knowledge exchange, collaboration, and advocacy.
The announcement came as part of Kotowski's opening remarks during this year's 67th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. "We study, design, build, test and continue to improve systems to help people live better, safer and more productive lives. We gather to foster collaboration and unlock exponential possibilities. We aspire to inspire others," said Kotowski. "We want you to encourage your peers and young professionals in our field to attend ASPIRE next year. We are transforming our signature event to build value for our members and those not currently attending our annual meeting."
