AKCP and Sunbird DCIM Collaborate at Data Center World Singapore
Amzeal News/10542849
AKCP, the world's oldest and largest supplier of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions collaborated with Sunbird DCIM at Data Center World Singapore to display wireless sensors combined with the power of Sunbird's DCIM software.
ISLANDWIDE, Singapore - Amzeal -- Data Center World (DCW) Singapore was held between October 11-12, 2023 at Marina Bay Sands Convention Center. Exhibitors from across the globe were present including AKCP and Sunbird DCIM.
AKCP presented their wireless sensor technology with cabinet thermal maps. Utilizing a proprietary communications protocol developed by AKCP, known as Wireless Tunnel™, it is the first LoRa™ based sensor monitoring solution designed specifically for the data center and critical infrastructure monitoring.
The sensorProbe+ Wireless Tunnel (SP-WT) radio device connects with up to 4 of AKCP's intelligent sensors. On display at DCW Singapore the SP-WT was connected with cabinet thermal maps which monitor the temperature and humidity of server racks at the front and rear, top middle and bottom. ∆T is calculated from these values allowing hotspots and cold spots to be identified.

It is well known that hotspots in a data center can lead to downtime. However, cold spots should be considered equally important. Areas in the data center that are too cold are stranded capacity. You can either increase your server loads in these areas, or turn down / shut down cooling systems saving you energy.
Sunbird DCIM software is a globally popular Data Center Infrastructure Management Software. Packed with features to monitor and manage your data center, it is fully SNMP Compliant. This allows you to monitor all sensor data from AKCP within Sunbird. Graphical representations of the temperature are created with 3D heatmaps to quickly identify problem areas.
For those who missed out on the opportunity to see a live demo, DCW Singapore will be held again on October 9-10 2024.
AKCP established in the USA in 1981, has 40+ years experience in professional sensor solutions. AKCP created the market for networked temperature, environmental and power monitoring in the data center. Today with over 150 employees and 200,000 installations, AKCP is the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions.
