Amzeal News/10577006
Summit Economic Partnership (SEP), a local economic development non-profit, launches initiative to enhance innovation and diversify the region's tourism-dependent economy.
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. - Amzeal -- The Summit Economic Partnership (SEP) has officially launched the 2024 Fall High Country Tech Growth Challenge, Summit County's first tech accelerator program. In partnership with Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center and Startup Colorado, this six-week initiative supports tech-enabled businesses looking to scale by providing mentorship, financial resources, and building investor connections.
Each week participants will engage in interactive sessions covering crucial topics such as Colorado's funding ecosystem, financial forecasting, legal structures, and pitch training. The accelerator will conclude with a Demo Day on December 6 in Steamboat Springs, CO, where entrepreneurs will present to regional investors and industry experts for feedback and support.
Seven promising businesses from Summit County have been selected to participate, each with established customers, revenue streams, and a clear path to expansion. The selected businesses come from various sectors, showing significant potential for national or international growth and the ability to bring broader economic benefits to Summit County:
Supporting these businesses aligns with SEP's goal of diversifying Summit County's tourism-dependent economy. As these companies grow, they have the potential to create high-quality jobs for the local workforce, providing opportunities that match the skills of highly educated professionals currently underemployed in the region's tourism-dominated economy.
