2018 Information Technology Summit & Tradeshow comes May 31

The nonprofit Maine Technology Users Group hosts Maine's largest tech conference, the 31st Annual I.T. Summit and Tradeshow, Thursday, May 31st, featuring 15 workshops with Maine IT leaders, 50+ exhibitors, and a keynote on healthcare tech innovation.

PORTLAND, Maine - May 3, 2018 - Amzeal -- The nonprofit Maine Technology Users Group (MTUG) will hold its I.T. Summit and Tradeshow on Thursday, May 31, 2018, 7:30am to 4pm, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, 88 Spring Street, Portland. An expected 500+ IT professionals will gather to share technology experiences and the latest in services and products.

This year's Keynote is Dr. Rafael Grossmann, Trauma/General Surgeon and Health Technology Innovator. His address, "Mixed Reality & Beyond: The Smart Use of Technology Without Limits!" will explore the future of the smart application of Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality in healthcare and education. Dr. Grossmann is the first surgeon to use Google Glass during surgery, and an ardent telemedicine, global health, and digital medicine advocate.

The event features 15 workshops across 5 tracks: Cloud, IT Career Development, IT Infrastructure, Security, and "Tech Sandbox" (hands on tech demos) on topics such as redesigning networks, using DevOps, Microsoft Azure, cost-effective security, threat hunting, and more. Most workshops are co-led by "end-user" IT professionals from a variety of local sector businesses such as retail, education, biotech, government services, and manufacturing.

The exhibit hall includes 50+ technology infrastructure, services, consulting, and training vendors.

The expected 500+ attendees will include tech professionals and business managers from Maine and Northern New England, representing all sectors/industries, including finance, education, government, retail, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, nonprofit and more.

At Lunch, the 7th Annual MTUG joint scholarships will be announced with partnering businesses Connectivity Point, Consolidated Communications, Great Works Internet, Lincolnville Communications, Maine Fiber Company, Norway Savings Bank, Systems Engineering, and Tyler Technologies.
